There are different types of hearing loss that have different causes. However, the symptoms of hearing loss are basically the same. If you answered yes to any of the following questions<\/a>, you may have some degree of hearing loss. We urge you to have a hearing test at an ENT doctor.<\/p>\n

A) Do people around you comment that the volume of television or radio is too loud.
B) Did you miss some visits or phone calls from friends because you did not hear the doorbell or the phone ringing.
C) Do you find it difficult to follow a conversation in a noisy environment or in crowded places.
D) Do people tell you that you speak too loudly.

    For example if you listen to loud music or go to a concert then you feel that you do not listen so well. This is because the hair cells in your hearing organ are temporarily damaged. After a period of calm, he will recover. This is called a temporary threshold shift.<\/p>

    However, if you repeatedly expose yourself to longer periods of loud noise, these hair cells will be severely damaged and there will be no chance of regeneration. This is called permanent PTS threshold shift. Listening to loud music, in concerts or through headphones, can be especially dangerous. The volume through the headphones can easily reach 110-120 dB. A loud, sudden, explosive sound, such as a firework, can also cause hearing damage and loss. People in noisy work environments are also at risk.
