Help your child hear better

When talking to your child, sit across from him to get your attention. Call it by its name. Be at his height because that way the sound is better. Speak to him in a steady tone. Words and expressions should be simple. Simple sentences and concise. Make sure your child understands what you are saying. Pay attention to his expression or ask him to repeat exactly what you told him. Children may feel embarrassed at first. Be patient. Give generous praise. No matter how small the progress, celebrate it.
